This series goes beyond simple stretches and incorporates a comprehensive approach to understanding the anatomy, technique, and alignment of the shoulders in various yoga poses. By gaining a deeper understanding of these areas, you will learn to support greater freedom and ease in the neck, shoulders, and upper back.

Throughout the series, we will explore a range of yoga practices tailored to release tension, improve mobility, and develop strength and flexibility in the neck and shoulder areas. You will learn specific techniques to prevent injuries, enhance your posture, and optimize your movement mechanics.

Our sessions will focus on the fundamental role of breath in releasing long-held tension patterns. Through cultivating optimal breathing, you will discover its transformative power in calming the mind and releasing physical tension.

 If you occasionally feel limitations in everyday tasks or find it challenging to understand your movement patterns, this series will provide you with valuable insights and tools.

This series if for you if you experience any of the following: 

  • tension in your neck, shoulders, or upper body

  • a desire to improve awareness of your upper body

  • an occasional feeling of limitation in everyday tasks

  • inability to discern why you move the way you move

  • increased or decreased mobility of your joints

  • lack of upper body strength and stability

  • notice yourself straining or holding your breath to perform simple or basic tasks with your upper body effort

I’m an Āyurvedic doctor, yoga therapist, and meditation teacher living in Madison, Wisconsin.
