6-Week Series

In this 6-week virtual yoga series you will learn yoga postures and breath work to support a healthy pelvic floor.

A healthy pelvic floor is both strong and supple. A pelvic floor that is weak or too tight may be the source of pain, stress incontinence, or prolapse. An imbalance in the pelvic floor can impede movement, bladder, menstrual, and sexual function or transmit strain to the lower back, sacroiliac joints, hips, knees, feet, or digestive system. Strengthening, stabilizing, stretching, and softening the pelvic floor can help to create optimal function and freedom of movement within the body.

If you are curious about the pelvic floor or experience any of the symptoms listed below, this series is for you.

  • pelvic pain
  • lower back, hip, sacroiliac, or groin problems
  • stress incontinence
  • frequent urination
  • organ prolapse
  • discomfort during sex
  • pre or post pregnancy

All bodies are welcome to attend.

TESTIMONIALS

Susan

"Since my pregnancy with my daughter, more than 31 years ago, I’ve had leakage issues, especially when running, hiking, and sneezing. In this series, I learned how breathing is connected to the movement of the core, and how core strength also affects the pelvic floor. It was also valuable to learn and experiment with feeling the various parts of our anatomy, and working on singling out contracting the various sphincters and perineum independently. Over the week-end, we hiked three days on our Ice Age Trail journey, and what a difference I’ve already had with my leakage issue!"

"Andrea is a person who never stops teaching. She is continually welcoming you to learn about your body, to explore what it can do today while testing it’s potential. The Healthy Pelvic Floor series was taught using visual, mental and verbal cues, Andrea gently guiding us to understand how the pelvic floor is core to our strength through a series of exercises that strengthened and stretched. The fine-tuning she employs reached areas that have been a chronic source of pain; areas in which I now find relief. You will find her methods gentle, inclusive, non-judgemental, and knowledgeable."

"I absolutely love this series. After 3 kids, I’ve been doing kegels wrong for 30 years. All of the minute, specific instruction is so great - I have a completely new awareness. And I wouldn’t have gained it without these very specific techniques. The time flies by as I really have to pay attention. I find myself breathing to my pelvic floor throughout the day when I need a bit of calming/grounding. So effective! Love, love, love all the knowledge I’m gaining."

"I cannot say enough how much I appreciated your Pelvic Floor Yoga class. I have already referred multiple family, friends, and patients to your website, with a strong recommendation to take this class. I truly appreciated the exercises that helped me to connect to these muscles better.  Your amazing voice as you led the class, step by step, to pay more attention, connect deeper and work at the just right level for each person's unique body, was perfect. I have benefited more from these classes than either of the times that I went to Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists' for individualized treatment."

"I am really impressed with what you have done with the pelvic floor series.  I cannot believe that there is so much within the course, that as a yoga therapist, that I did not know. Your instructions and the way you linked everything together was so amazing. I am stuck on repeating and repeating the videos in my own body. I am glad I can go back to feel and study that and take notes."

Jean

"Thank you for your wonderful series devoted to the pelvic floor. It was so helpful to learn about the anatomy and structure of the pelvic area. Once I could visualize and focus on an a specific body part, the practice became so meaningful. The series truly awakened curiosity in and compassion for my body."

HI, I AM ANDREA.

I’m an Āyurvedic health practitioner, yoga therapist, and meditation teacher living in Madison, Wisconsin. If I could convince you of only one thing, it’s this: that there’s a path to transform suffering—of feeling unwell, anxious, or like you’re spread too thin. here are tools that can help you heal, get back to yourself, and remember what is meaningful, and live in alignment.

The momentum of life can pull us off center. We don’t always get what we want, people we love die, and at times, the world can be a hard place to live. We need practices that bring us back home to ourselves so we may stay true to what’s in our hearts. We need ways to cultivate strength, resiliency, and compassion. Ancient practices offer timeless tools that can help.

If you think that learning ways to help you move more easily, to transform your relationship with food, to develop sustainable self-care routines, and to down regulate your nervous system can help you achieve optimal health, I’d love to work with you.
