Aging challenges bones. But aging challenges everything and bone issues begin around age 30, so why blame the aging process as many do.
The medical model offers some solutions to bone issues. Research also exists to show that yoga can increase the integrity of our bones.
As with many other concerns called women's issues, research lags behind in the study of bone health.
Do we give up? Of course not. We're a team. A community of practitioners creating a legacy for the future. Every cell in our body dies, and every moment we create new cells. Bone cells are unique in that they die faster than they replace themselves....
And there is hope.
Building Bone draws upon practices researched and those yet to be discovered but based upon the original study. Practices in this series are drawn from core work, nervous system calming, forming new neurological habits, strength training, and balance practices. The mind-body connection of awareness is fundamental to our work.

The medical model measures bone health with a DEXA scan, looking primarily at the wrist, the spine, and the hips. Our sessions will focus on those areas alongside whole body practices.
