Week 1 - Respiratory Physiology 101. Abdominal/Diaphragmatic Breathing
Week 2 - O2 vs Co2 -Partners in Oxygenating our Bodies. Brahmari Pranayama 
Week 3 - Interoception vs Exteroception - Introduction of Reduced Breathing. Ujjayi Pranayama 
Week 4 - Breath and your Autonomic Nervous System - Why bigger is not better. Analoma Ujjayi Pranayama 
Week 5 - Everything, Everywhere, All at Once - putting it all together Nadi Sodhana Pranayama. Pratiloma Ujjayi. 

Each week is a combination of teaching, gentle asana, meditation, and pranayama. Time will be allowed at the end of each class for short Q & A.

I AM CHRIS FEDERMAN.

Hi I’m Chris. I am privileged to be a yoga teacher and yoga therapist. I retired, after 24 years, in 2015 from a very busy OB/GYN practice. During my career, I completed my first yoga teacher training.  Currently, I have completed two 500-hour teacher trainings and I am a certified yoga therapist with IAYT.

After retirement I was able to really dive more deeply into practice, study, and teaching of yoga. Although I consider myself a yoga teacher, I will never stop being a student. 

I love being able to continue helping others but in a totally different, yet powerful way. My background allows me to combine modern research and ancient practices to educate and to improve the health and well-being of others. This is especially true around the practice of Pranayama and cultivating a healthy breathing life-style. 

I have decades of experience combining Western medicine and Eastern practices and I am excited to share that knowledge with you. I  am committed to weaving together these 2 vast fields of knowledge so that they are accessible to everyone and of benefit to those in need.
